Services
Let me help you tell your stories.

Writing
You speak, I write. I elicit your stories in interviews, write and polish them, and then help you choose photos to illustrate your book. I can deliver the end product as a privately bound book for friends and family or a self-published book for sale to the public.

Coaching
You write, I guide. Are you ready to write but don't know where to begin? Or have you written a lot of material but need help organizing it into a book? I can help you get your story on the page.

Editing
You write, I edit. Is your book draft finished but not quite ready for publication? Do you want to shop it to agents or publishers? No problem; I'm a professional editor with a dozen years of experience. I can polish the text so it makes the best impression.

LIFE ISN'T A STRAIGHT LINE
No one has just one life story, and LBGTQIA lives are more various still. The straight line from birth to college to marriage to kids to home ownership doesn’t even describe straight cisgender lives anymore, let alone lives like ours. Some of us do intimacy differently—with multiple partners, or aromantically or asexually. Maybe we came out during AIDS. Or our mutual aid network is central to our survival. Or we’re living through an attack on trans lives now.
Our stories aren’t only a record of mundane or sentimental facts—they are the stuff of LGBTQIA history. Years from now, websites and blogs and social media might not be readable or archivable by the newest platforms. Books will be. Come out on the page. Contact me about your life stories.

ABOUT ME
I am a trans man and a writer and editor. My fiction has been recognized with an award from the National Endowment for the Arts (under my previous, cisgender name). I also have an MFA in creative writing from Brown University and a PhD in English from Brandeis.
See a sample book I wrote, about an actor and mountaineer, here. Another sample of my life writing: stories about my mother’s grandfather. You can read more of my writing here, here, and here.
Professional associations I belong to:
GSBA, Seattle’s LGBTQIA chamber of commerce
